Walt Whitman (1819-1892), es considerado el mayor poeta estadounidense. Su obra lírica, concentrada en las sucesivas ediciones de Hojas de hierba, ejerce su magisterio sobre gran parte de la poesía moderna, incluidos Ernst Staedler, Ezra Pound, Pablo Neruda, Jorge Luis Borges, Federico García Lorca o Allen Ginsberg. A mi parecer su literatura fresca, sin nada de esas palabras rebuscadas, lenguaje fácil y variados temas en su obra poética y gente como chaplin lo considero su musa inspiradora. La verdad para mi el poeta del sombrero, jejejejejejjejej.
